Some components of an arm from our 2011 robot were repurposed, while the gripper and support structure were created new for this display.

Python brings it all together

We used libraries for the CRICKIT to control the motors and Kivy to generate a UI, all through the Python programming language. Check out our code for this and past bots at the link below!

CRICKIT, Jaguars, and Pi!

A Raspberry Pi runs the display and base code, utilizing a CRICKIT board to send signals to the Jaguar motor controllers which are traditionally used in FRC robots.

AN ORIGINAL CATERPILLAR TEAM

Robot Casserole was one of the two original FIRST Robotics Competition teams sponsored by Caterpillar in 2006. We welcome students from anywhere in the Peoria area.

COMMUNITY IMPACT

Through projects like the museum robot, Go Baby Go, and RoboRumble, Robot Casserole helps grow the FIRST program and introduce young minds to STEM.

TEAM IMAGERY

With our iconic red chef hats and consistent team image, Team 1736 is instantly recognized by teams around the globe. Robot Casserole received the Championship Imagery Award in 2016.

MENTOR SUPPORT

With the guidance and inspiration of mentors from Caterpillar, Ameren, the Peoria Police Department, OSF, and other local businesses, students are set up for success on the team and in the future.
